Bill - I ended up doing exactly that - had to drill it out as the screws were either stripped or seized. At any rate I appreciate your help!!

There was a handle set on the back door which I was able to save - I think someone wanted what was there; if so let me know.

Confederate - when you ask the wrong questions, you get the wrong answers. I didn't come here and ask for help because I knew what I was doing - you don't know what you don't know, right?

I looked in the holes and didn't see anything because I believed there was some sort of special tool - I wasn't expecting to see screws, so I didn't.

"How many cylinders do you have?" 4 because they truly believe they have 4 - not because they are trying to get over on you (at least I hope not...)

I've seen a couple times where people will put locktite on screw threads when installed because they don't want anyone taking them out. It never occurs to them it might need servicing at some point in the future. They'll often have one way screws too.

I have seen where people will drill out the head of the phillips screws holding their double deadbolt locks together for the same reason
cheaper than locktite!
