I'm pretty proud of this new pick

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I'm pretty proud of this new pick

I made this one out 1/2" wide, 0.025" thick feeler gauge. Marked my design out, filed everything down, and did and of my fine fishing with high grit sand paper. The handles are laminated with an additional piece of feeler gauge on each side. I roughed up the insides of the handles with lower grit sand paper, and drilled a couple holes in the main handle of the pick. Applied a generous coating of JB weld, enough to make it squish out the sides. Once that cured, went back to sanding. I brought the overflow of JB weld flush with the feeler gauge. Polished everything up with 2500 grit sand paper. Not a rough edge of the thing. Let me know what you think.

Like the shape on your pick. You may want to consider (if your picking is light enough) making the shaft of the pick not as high. If there are high bittings behind low bittings at the front of the lock, a thicker shaft may lift the low bittings in order to get the higher pin set.

I may still shorten the height of it, I was debating doing that or just making another pick that is similar, but shorter. It will be pretty easy to shorten and then re-finish.
