Though I would share with you a neat padlock I have recently picked. Spoiler alert! The anti-pick pin.. is a great idea. The padlock is a Lockwood 334M45, fitted with an MLAA (Master Locksmiths Assoc of Aust) Binary Plus restricted profile core.

Cop a geez at that lovely profile! Note the deep horizontal slots about halfway up. These are where the anti-pick pins sit in the barrel @ 90° to the bottom pins. The '1' refers to the lock group set by the locksmith, and the 'C' is the profile in the BP range, of A, B, and C.
Heres a shot of the barrel, with the anti-pick pin / spring installed.

See how it works? The spring interferes with the 3rd pin, when the key is inserted, it pushes a pin in the slot I pointed out above, pushing the spring out of the way.

These are the standard spools fitted to all the new Lockwood 334 range. I call them tall spools. They are always pinned 6 to a barrel, no standards, so most of the time when I go to pick them they are already in false set.

As I alluded to above, the 'Anti-Pick' feature is a great idea. Except that the spring moves out of the way if you blow into the barrel hard enough. So really, no protection at all. I didnt even bother to hold it back while picking, just added a little more force on pin 3 and it gave no trouble. I do remember having a barrel for this series that had these springs on every pin though, something that the brochure linked above confirms. This configuration could possibly provide more of a headache to pick I would think, if only because it would be hard to determine which pin is the binder. I wasn't able to find that barrel today, but if I do I will pin it up and provide a writeup.
