How do I pick this padlock?

Postby JT03 » 31 Jul 2016 22:59

I recently found this padlock in the basement but couldn't find a key, I've picked a few locks before but never this kind. I did some research and found out is a CCC&StL 1915 Miller Lock but I couldn't figure out how to pick it.

Those can be difficult to pick without seeing the insides first, but that one is likely a fairly standard lever design. You could probe around and figure out how to tension it, and try to make some wire picks. But, I would go the impressioning route, as he suggested.
