Long shot

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Evening all. New member here and seeking advice. Some years ago I rented out a property to the MOD. They insisted I had a safe fitted for reasons they kept to themselves. I had a Dudleysafe "home safe mk 2 with an LG keypad. Just recently the MOD have quit the house and my eldest son has moved in. However, the safe door has been left open with the lock locked and so we can't close the door and the MOD are saying the last tenant can not be contacted at this moment. Does anyone have any pointers as to how I can find the number or how I can reset it. Many thanks. Andy.

[Edit: moved from Locks to This Old Safe]

Could you provide photos of the outside of the safe door and of the inside of the door? Usually there is a removable plate on the inside which allows access to the safe lock combination wheels which can be visually inspected to retrieve the working combination. There are a couple of stickies in the This Old Safe forum with photos and instructions.

It is a LG lock so sounds like a digital. You can reset older LG Basic models but the newer ones require a tool to reset AFAIK.

Evening. There is a large plate on the inside of the door. The lock on the outside is digital and rotates about quater of a turn? This could be nothing I guess, just the way they are maybe. I swapped the battery earlier today and tried our old number but to no avail. After couple of tries it stopped beeping and wouldnt let me re try for some while. Would it help if I posted a pic of the door on here or should I take the plate off and see if I can work it out?
Thanks all for the info.

if it is digital then taking door apart wont do much. There was a trick once for resetting the combination if you could open the lock up and short out a couple pins, but it's up to you if you want to get that hard core. Have you tried 1 2 3 4 5 6 # as the combination?

I'll send you a private message with some instructions that may work..
