What am I catching?

Postby Boogerhooker » 17 Aug 2016 10:01

Being new, I bought a Master #3 to learn. Behind the last pin, my pick seems to catch on something. It feels like it might be lower than the pins. Is that the flaw that allows bypassing in these locks?

If it matters, I'm using the half diamond looking pick from the Sparrows kick start.

Most master locks I have come across are not able to be bypassed. Not that we can discuss bypass methods on this forum.

That being said, at the back of most pin and tumbler cylinders there is usually an opening. You are probably just going into the open section. You won't be able to feel any movement because there isn't anything to move.

Without going into details . There is a bypass tool for MAster Locks.. And as far as I know it will work on even the most current Master Locks.. YOu may be catching on the cam portion... There are a ton of Master locks broken down on the Internet .. Master 3,5,ec are all the same internally .. Just bigger bodies..
When I finally leave this world.. Will someone please tell my wife what I have REALLY spent on locks ...

You are absolutely correct now that I am thinking about it. I think I even have a tool that will work with that technique. I honestly think it slipped my mind because I can pick a #3 faster than I can bypass it. I don't really use bypasses, so I don't know them all that well.

OK, folks. Bypass is restricted to the Advanced Forums. I let it slide a bit, but it won't be long before others start telling how to use the bypass tools.

Locking the thread.
