But is there a design of the rake that makes it more effective than other rakes? The Citi rake in particular, is one shape better than another?
I just feel like the company who is mass producing these $10 dollar pick sets and sellling them under no less than half a dozen different brands, has never picked a lock in their lives and either ripped their templates from photos or other knock offs being made regionally. The material is sharp and brittle, but just the rake shapes and underut geometry is all wrong and prone to breaking. The angled flag hook pick, I dont even know where to start on that monstrocity, the two down from it I have seen in some Majestic and southord sets over the years, again wondering if these people even try to pick a lock with their own products. The last rake which has a solid and a hollow half diamond, it looks very breakable and not really sure what they were shooting for, its certainly no Bogota.
As for the city or L rake, that bitting and geometry has proven itself to be a winning combination over and over to many pickers many times.
Hope that helps explain a little better, have a good evening,
