Homemade Pinning Trays

These are some homemade pinning trays I made out of the free samples of flooring you can get at Home Depot. If you have the tools these are a great material to make things out of! Just make sure you get your measurements right before you start cutting. I've ruining a couple of them being to hasty and anxious in my approach. Hope you get inspired to make your own!

It's funny, seeing as how I'm a woodworker, that I've never made one, even though it wouldn't take any time at all. I always just fold up a piece of paper.

For regular lock disassembly I like to use plastic ice cube trays. Doesn't work as well when you have a lot of components in each chamber though. In that case I'll use my LAB pinning tray, or the built in area on my LAB pinning mat.

I bought the A-1 tray because it looked pretty useful on paper. But when I got it, I was surprised how tiny it was. I never use it.

I've tried a ton of trays and was never really happy. Bought an A-1 WT2 and it's all I have used since.

These are great! I don't know that I have the woodworking prowess to make something that spot-on. Nice work!

I actually took a piece of cardboard box, peeled off one layer so the corrugated center is exposed. I then cut it to fit in an Altoids tin, and superglued the cardboard inside the tin. Also did the same thing on the lid, but it is cut a bit smaller so it can be closed.
It's crude, but it's cheap and easy if you're not much of a woodworker.
