I bet that the holes in the frame for the latch to strike into that they are not deep enough
Incorrect installation
And the gap between the frane and door it too loose for the deadlatch latch pin(the small latch) doesn't properly hit the strike plate
Well, I suppose it is now too late to complain to the door people. Anyway, I doubt they are capable of fixing it.

Just thought I'd touch base, so that you won't all think that I didn't appreciate the help. I did find a locksmith that was on both the LGA or MLAA lists. Sent him an email, never got an answer. I didn't want to just phone, was worried about ending up with the apprentice again
Life sort of got hectic since then, so haven't followed up. About to do that now.
I went to Mitre 10 today to get a key cut (nothing to do with my house) They couldn't do it and recommended a local locksmith. That was about 6pm, so asked if they would be open - oh yes, he replied, they are open until 7. So, I drove there.... Closes at 5
Anyway, when I got home, I looked them up on the LGA or MLAA list and they ARE on the MLAA list. So, will go back tomorrow, and have a chat while I'm there. If they seem helpful, I won't bother chasing the other one up. They are closer to my house anyway, only about 15 minutes drive.
