Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Safe manipulation discussion is allowed, but safe drilling or other destructive entry is only allowed in the Advanced - Safes and Safe Locks area.
If you are a guest of the forum and have a safe you need to open, but you do not have the combination, we cannot tell you how or where to drill it.
Check out what we got today. It is not ours to keep but to restore. Note: there is NO outside lock or keyhole. When you are ready to close and lock it you turn a big wrench to load a spring in the box below the time clock. Then you set the time clocks, flip the trigger and close the door. In 45 seconds the bolts fire locked. In whatever time you set the time clock, the bolts will unlock. The spring is so strong we all jumped when it fired. It was made in the 1860s and everything still works very well.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.
Oh wow what a beautiful safe, thankfully it has all the internals as those are worth more than the safe itself. The bolt device and time lock would probably run around a thousand or more, especially with the winding handle. Finding a matched set is extremely rare.
