To clarify: discus lock: a disc shaped padlock, offering somewhat higher physical resistance. The hasp slides in and out from the body of the lock and hasn't got much area to cut it easily. There are both bad locks and good locks in the category though there is inherent resistance coming from the design.
Disc lock: A lock which uses rotating discs (instead of pins, or wafers or sliders or levers etc.) to check the key's biting. Usually there is a side bar whose freedom of movement is controlled by the discs's position. Abloy and Abus are 2 reputable makers making high security locks based on this principle. Outdated Abloy and Abus models and especially Chinese knock-offs are often unsecure.
