Picks from pumpkin carving kits.

So I was just shopping around with my wife for some Halloween stuff. I ran across one of those cheap pumpkin carving kits for 2 bucks. They look perfect for making picks. The steel is flexible but strong, and I'd guess no bigger than .030 thick. The best part is they already come with a handle built in. I just thought I'd share in case anyone else wanted to try it while those things are everywhere right now. Take care!

0.030" is a little thick for picks, but not bypass tools or mogul picks.

The pumpkin carving blades I used this weekend bent very easily. I'm not sure if they were just really cheap or if I just got frustrated to fast though lol.

I think they are just really cheap. They bend, twist and break very easily. I don't think I've cut a pumpkin with one of those kits without them being destroyed.

I should clarify I was using them to carve a pumpkin not making picks.

I usually use them to cut locks or pick pumpkins...They do neither very well.

Man, you must have been rough lol. The ones I got are pretty sturdy, and don't break or stay bent, the material does seem appropriate. I really wanna try it out! I just want to carve our pumpkins first. I'll let everybody know how it works out if nobody else has been bored enough.
