What lock is this and where to get parts?

Postby codered11343 » 14 Oct 2016 14:52

Hi. I need some help. I have about 50 or so of these type of lock cores and I need parts. The main issue is that I don't know what lock this is or where I can get the part I need.

The part that I need are the small springs that go with the locking tailpiece pin. The big issue is that those pins are smaller than the pin stack springs so they have been quite hard to find.

If anyone can identify the lock (make/model) or point me in the right direction to get the springs, it would be much appreciated. If it helps, it fits Schlage pins (.115" in diameter) and I did buy a small set that was supposed to be the locking pins and springs for Schlages, but the springs I got from the seller are for the pin stacks but the pins are right. This is the ebay listing that I bought them from http://www.ebay.com/itm/262638274598?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT (I am talking to the seller right now to try and fix this.)

Looks like Corbin/Russwin CE (L4).

That style of end cap is characteristic of Schlage cylinders. You're correct that the spring us a smaller size. Any locksmith should be able to supply you with these; they're standard in Schlage pin kits.

How do you have 50 or so TOOOL practice locks? I know that Basic 6 label anywhere.

Email admin@toool.us and they can ID those locks for sure, they may still have them or parts for them in stock.

The pin stacks are Corbin-Russwin but the tail piece and end cap parts are standard to Schlage Key-in-Knob cylinders. The Schlage 40-134 pinning kit has them or you can order just the springs for the end cap as part number C503-115 (the cap pin is C503-116). I believe DarkSim905 from the NJ chapter had recently found a supplier for those parts if you need help finding a retailer.

Say "Hi" to Preston, Ann, and David for me.

I echo nite0wls sentiments, please tell the rest of the DC crew I say hi and its nice to meet you.

I'm not sure who gets the admin@ address for toool(I was unaware it existed). The info one is forwarded to CRM type service so that, ideally, multiple folks can answer it messages to it.

Not sure if we ever met... I only went to a couple local TOOOL meetings, and that was a little over a year ago. If you still need these, let me know and about how many you need... I'm sure I can spare some, and can probably drop by the next meeting (I'm assuming they are still the first Tuesday of the month). :D
