Can't find source of strong blanks

Postby TORCH [of KCK] » 18 Oct 2016 21:30

I'm trying to find both;
KW10 & SC4 (blanks)
Made of steel.
(Hrs on Internet, no luck.)

Working with a milling lathe,
Std (brass) blanks been bending & breaking.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

As a surrogate for SC4, try Schlage L blanks (6 pin all-section). Steel is standard for these IIRC. Afraid I have nothing to suggest for KW10.

Only the factory L blank is steel. Aftermarket will be nickel-silver.

What are you using for the cutter and rpm on the milling lathe. It should have no trouble with brass.
