Howdy!

i see everyone talking about the american 1100 series lock to be very good practice locks. im wondering if for example the american a1106 is the same, or a1106kas3red are the same. or do people mean the exact 1100 model?
thanks all

1100 is the series.. it could be an 1105 or 1106, doesnt matter, just colors, shackle size, etc, but the cylinder still picks the same for practice.

http://www.lockwiki.com/index.php/Ameri ... _1200_1300 only difference the model number will determine that matters to pickers will be 5 or 6 pins inside the lock.

dont get too hung up on exact model numbers, I remember falling into that hole myself when I was starting out. =)

And don't forget! Any lock to practice on is better than no lock to practice on!

I believe the 1000, 5000, 6000 series are all about the same .. The differences are in the Shackle diameter and height, and what core you put in them. they can all be 5 or 6 pins,

there is also the obvious body size .. But locking mechanism is all the same ..
When I finally leave this world.. Will someone please tell my wife what I have REALLY spent on locks ...
