How tough are the Denmark Ruko locks?

Postby VapePc » 14 Apr 2016 15:37

I have tried some times and failed to rock, rake and single pin pick this Ruko house lock from Denmark, does anyone know what are in these?

When I feel like I have all the pins at the sherline, it still wont move. And when it gives a click, the core does not move like some other locks I have.

Are there any tips for picking this lock?

Probably similar inside to the oval Ruko 500 which is similar to the Scandinavian ASSA. I would guess counter milled core and ASSA style security drivers. I have picked the 6 pin ASSA with all security pins 3 times. Took well over 30 minutes each time. Had to SPP. Raking can't be done. I did make a bump key that worked, oddly.

Not odd, all standard pin tumbler locks can be bumped.

I don't know this model, but yes: Assa Ruko can be VERY tough. ;)
There might be a sidebar, maybe passive.
You should do a Google/Youtube Search.

This is no standard pin tumbler lock. it looks like an assa 600. you can tell by the shape of the key.
you have assa drives in either 5 or 6 of the chambers and counter milling in all the chambers. no side bar.
I would suggest progressively pinning it so you can learn how the drivers react.

Some of these locks are very difficult. I've got a Ruko with a highly paracentric keyway that I've been unable to open. Bosnianbill has an informative video discussing Ruko locks and the various techniques that they use to thwart lock picking.

Actually, from a mechanical perspective it is a standard pin tumbler lock...

He said it is "no standard" pin tumbler lock. And it is not typical in how it is picked. As he said, the ASSA drivers and counter milling make it far more challenging than a standard pin tumbler lock.
