So am I missing something. Why is the poster asking about SFIC? SFIC comes from Abus less cylinder.

The padlock body will be plainly stamped IC.

Tpark mentioned SFIC in his response. The OP asked what an SFIC was.

Correct the OP asked what SFIC so I assumed it was a SFIC padlock he was asking about. Carded would imply that it isn't SFIC since they use a user supplied core. If it is SFIC the bit posted about Abus cards doesn't apply.

buddy, we don't know or memorize all these very specific details. You should call the supplier or the website you are looking at or call ABUS and ask them. I think you're over thinking the locks you are trying to buy, just buy some locks and start picking instead of getting hung up on which core is the same on which padlocks, etc.

Also ABUS US can be ordered easily in Schlage SC1, but I don't think ABUS in UK is going to come with a Schlage core as that keyway is not common at all in the UK.

I can only go to their website (http://www.abus.com) so many times to cut and paste info into this thread.

Please go to their website and download the free padlock catalog. It will answer your questions about all the padlocks they offer. If you still have questions after looking through the catalog, call ABUS. I've found their customer service to be great.

The 300 cores are kind of nice - there's a "window" on the side of the core, so you can push a pin in and rotate the plug to get access to replace the pins. This is handy for rekeying. These cores aren't particularly pick resistant, but they're not terrible either. The shrouded shackle makes them difficult to snip off and the core is secure enough to keep casuals out. For well designed hasp systems, these locks would work, but I don't know how well they hold up to the weather.

Just don't rotate it too far, otherwise you'll either be tossing the core in the trash, or drilling down through the top.

another note on the 300 cores, if you take it apart to rekey instead of using the window be VERY careful because that spring loaded doodad will pop up inside of a chamber when you follow it out so make sure it is aligned so it doesn't!

Luckily a couple years back they modified it with a cutout for the 6th pin insertion so there is less need now to plug follow it out :)

This was not easy.

i have a quick offtopic question folks, with euro cylinders, does it matter if its 45x45 or 28x28, will it still be 7 pin if that model has 7 pin on 45x45 version? or will it be less pins in the shorter versions?

have a great day folks!

Off topic questions should be an a new post, that way more people might see it, and it makes it easier to find for others.
