focus, and please have a close shot and a more distant shot.

We tend to get a bit nervous when someone has their first post as a close up picture and say they need to know what a lock is or how to open it ASAP.

Hi,
I'm a locksmith and a customer of mine got locked out of his house and he has this lock, so he sent me this picture to know if I could help him, that's the reason why I needed it in a brief period of time. Just knowing the name of it would be sufficient, because i've worked with cross keys and tubular keys, but never with this type, so if anyone knows something about it i would be really thankful.

It looks like a Bramah style lock to me http://www.crypto.com/photos/misc/bramah/
with apparently different tumblers, though.

You may also google for "French pump lock" or "serrure à pompe" - this style is still quite popular in France. And in London, U.K., near the original Bramah shop.

Where please? telling us your city or country will often help identify which brands are most popular geographically.

Thank you

Supra makes some locks like that, but have not seen knobsets or deadbolts like that.

Definitely looks like a bramah lock, but I've never seen one in person or know how to open one.

Bramah would fall under the "Advanced Locks" forum.
