I've seen this mentioned and described, and the instructions that come with the Peterson IC tool mention this but don't show photos of it in practice. I'm assuming I have it right but could be wrong. Is this how it works?
That's about right. What you're looking for is the teeth grabbing ejector holes in the control sleeve while not over-rotating in the keyway and camming out. Looks good from here, but only you could say for sure
Also looks OK from here - you want it so the plug and the sleeve are rotating together. Robotnik has a great description of what to look for. Bon chance!
Ok, thanks. I'm surprised they're designed this way - it's like they're way too thin and I can't see the teeth staying in the holes while rotating any other way but WITH a shim. Unless there are some REALLY slim IC keyways...
