Ojmar IC wafer locks

Anyone work with these? They have them at my gym(where I practically live) and they told me they buy a whole new lock when they loose the key. I would have figured they would have serial numbers and could just get a new key cut. The locks are not stamped in the front with anything other than the brand name and I know they are master keyed.

On writing this it does occur to me that it may be an intentional decision by the locksmith to protect against someone taking a key with them and coming back the next day when someone else has used the locker with newly cut key(of the same code) and cleaning out the locker.

Part of me is curious now, and the other part wants to feed information back to the owner as they didn't seem to know.

Also without the code on the key the key could be duplicated as long as the blank is free (not restricted). Looks like a business model of the locksmith to sell a new lock every time a key is lost.
Just quickly searched and found blanks for these wafer locks https://www.easykeys.com/Ojmar.aspx (original web site of the manufacturer http://ojmar.eu/?wbg_cat=21&lang=3&prod=27). So it seems that everyone could get a key cut from the template. But maybe they special profiles in your gym. But I cannot see a good reason why to exchange the lock as the bitting code could be stored in a list with the box number as index.

Bye,
Michael
