http://www.redbookmag.com/life/news/a39 ... -treasure/If they found the safe in 2014 and some of the contents can be dated to 1977, then I don't know why they're saying its' a 50 year old safe (other than some of the cash was from the 1960's) *after you read the article, one of those annoying page sized ad will pop up and block it. It's okay, I'll just try another fad diet.

Either a full-page ad, or in my case a click-jack auto-redirecting script that launches the App Store and tries to install something. Redbook and their advertising contractor can suck it

Did you at least get to read the article though?

Interesting! I sure wish I could just stumble across $50,000. There is a lot of speculation about "I found a safe" posts on Reddit and Imgur all the time, accusing OP of staging the whole thing. I'm not saying that this is the same case but I am a cynical skeptic.

That was the first thing I thought too. The money looks that old though. If I found a bottle of whiskey in a safe, I definitely wouldn't drink it, it could be worth some serious money.

After I switched to my pop-up blocking computer, yes Very cool story. Considering my house was built in the '90s, don't think I'll be finding any vintage safes anywhere. While I don't have any 50-year-old bourbon, I may have some 10-year-old, half-consumed tequila in the back of a cabinet somewhere that I can leave for the next owners .

Neat story, hope it is true, but one thing that bugs me is that the handwriting does not look just right for someone of that generation--they wrote in cursive only from second grade on and the hand-written note just does not look right. But then I am not a handwriting specialist. Can anyone tell how old the safe is, what year it was last in production?
