Well they would need experience but if that is there training or demonstrable proof of knowledge then yes, that's definitely fairly comprehensive. Just as good as a Foley Belsaw or Ashworth, in my opinion.

Wow, I've been doing this for 33 years and still don't know the history of door closers.

Seriously though, it looks like a good CV for getting an apprentice position. Once you get an apprenticeship the rest is up to you. There are people who know more in a year than others who have been doing it for 20 years. There are some who have their own locksmith business and I wouldn't hire because they know less than an apprentice with a year under the belt.

This is great knowledge for any candidate to have. I usually see a lot of people starting out in the profession without any real skill or background. They just work for a company in order to learn the basics.

Like Tyler said, it comes down to whether or not the skills can be demonstrated. It is the difference between information and practical application.

But I would say just having an interest and a passion for these things puts a candidate ahead of the rest. Actually showing that you have the taken the initiative to begin learning on your own is very impressive.

Most employers say they are looking for experience, but it just takes finding the right company to get a job with your own tenacity. I would also say that someone who recognizes this type of knowledge, and what it took to become with familiar with it, would probably be better to work for than someone who is just concerned with filling a position at their company.

I would add the caveat that it does matter how you come off in the interview. No one is hirable just by what they say they know, or even by what they do know. Their personality has to be a good fit.

But I think that those skills are certainly enough to get your foot in the door. The rest would be up to factors beyond what anyone can teach you.
