Nice bunch of locks, i hear those bilocks are very hard to pick.

Its my first bilock, and no key. I havent gotten it open yet, it's difficult. I will say it is very much a fun lock to pick on

Man, I'm jealous of that BiLock padlock, with or without a key! Have an Abus with a BiLock NG core, but nothing says 'cool' like an actual BiLock padlock.

Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.

That <censored> Stanley gives me the flux, lol. Constantly dropping pins, much like the Abus Titalium I'm also working on. Can't get either open yet.

I take back what i said about the stanley being a easy pick. I picked open the other stanley that came with the set i bought this morning. although it was keyed the same & with the same security pins, it was much, much harder to pick. I would even go as far as to say its the most difficult lock ive picked. The design of the pins catch perfectly on the ledge milled into the plug and when they do it feels like i hit a wall with my hook. Then to free it up almost every set pin drops back down. Took me almost 2hours to pick this one.

I use my Peterson gem for almost all my locks. My deforest diamond is my backup. I usually do the "come hither" move from behind to turn the pins.

I use an homemade half diamond. I use it along one side of the keyhole to push and pull the side of a pin tip. So our techniques are quite similar.
I suggest you add a couple pins, maybe only one pin is binding too much and that's why it's so difficult to turn.

Cheers :)

How big is your diamond? Im going between different picks trying to find a good option for turn pins. Right now i use a homemade lifter type. Haven't foundbest option yet

I went in there with a flashlight and sure enough they do turn - not much but they do turn. Maybe that's the way they're supposed to be. I had always figured they turned a full 360 degrees. Once I took it apart and learned a bit about the slider in there (and for about half an hour, lost the spring keeping it in, lol), I've managed to get it picked with two pins in it now. Moving to three.

What would you say is a good beginner dimple lock? I just ordered a dimple pick set and have a Kaba aura but that's a cabinet lock and I'm sure I'll be able to get that open too easily.

I like yardeni cylinders or similar. You can pull the top off and tap the chamber. Then progressive pick. I started with abus and that was very bad. Tough pick. We have a member named jimu who i believe sells practice cylinders

It's just a hair moire than 3mm. 1/8 of an inch i guess. And is quite a steep diamond.
Dunno if the pictures of my picked medecos with the picks i used are still showing on this thread. I'll look for them and reupload them if needed.

Cheers :)

Not exactly a pick, per se - but I pinned my first IC core from scratch and filed operating and control keys for it. They both need a bit of smoothing out on the edges though :)

Great job! now all you need is a punch, and you'll be set.

Thanks! All I need is a reason to justify the cost of an A2 punch first...lol
