Hi guys.
Does anyone know the difference in force needed to bend the high yield southord lockpicks vs the normal slimline ones?
I did some bending stress calculations and by the material properties they gave me on their website it seems like it would only take 0.16 lb of force acting at 2 inches from the tip of the pick to bend it. I doubt I did this right because my windshield wiper picks can stand up to a lot more force.
Is this true because that would mean bending picks is super easy?
Thanks.
Specs:
Yield stress 185000 psi
Base of pick 0.022 inches
Assumed height of pick 0.022 inches
Assumed distance to tip of pick that I would apply force 2 inches
