Cliff Lockpicks... again

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

The first one I backed never went into production, no one received any product at all; They only updated a few times and the last update was somewhere near the promised ship date for the backers. Never another update after that and no product ever arrived. Inquiries went unanswered.

Another one I backed showed a lot of drawings/prototypes/videos of the product, ran nearly a year late with no updates. The product did arrive but it was not, in my eyes, even close to what was promised.

The third that burned me was another lost cause. Updates for a while about how the demand was overwhelming and they couldn't find a manufacturer that could produce the numbers in the proposed time frame, then no updates, then no product.

I could chalk it up to bad luck but it honestly left a really bad impression of Kickstarter. Granted, I did not contribute large amounts of money but other backers did and the goals on each were certainly well exceeded...so it wasn't a lack of funding.

Story of my life.

Like I said, I'd probably back some lockpicks and give kickstarter another chance. Mostly since you came here and asked if it would be feasible first.

I am waiting on the cutter to cut more samples, then I must test them, then I'll launch the kickstarter.
After the funding goal is reached I'll start on the website and hopefully be able to open sales after all kickstarter orders are filled.

LSA - just sent something your way via kickstarter. Looking forward to seeing this project come to life!

kickstarter does not take the money until the campaign is complete, and only if it is fully funded.
So it does not really matter if you have the money now, or Friday, as long as you have it May 1st.
It's rather a pain to back several things because you have to constantly keep an eye on their end dates and your funds.

also if the funds fail to go through, kickstarter emails you and you can retry the credit whenever you are ready, which I have found to be helpful on more than one occasion.

Wow! Took less than three days to reach the goal. Your reputation precedes you, LSA. :D
