What kind of CISA is this?

Postby Picked Apart » 10 Mar 2017 0:30

It's a beast - size wise at least - but all I can see on it is F3S2C

Oh and hello to everyone; this is my first post, as I'm new here. Been picking for a few years now.

Welcome and please note if you hover your mouse of the [image] box while creating a post, it shows some examples as to what will and will not work to display pics. The links above are to the imgur album where each picture is, the links need to be what is called the direct link to the picture. I'll fix them for you. Moderator femurat is from Italy and will be able to tell you much more about that CISA than I can.

Well, what do you want to know about that old big padlock?
It has the old style logo. During the years they changed it a few times. This is the first version and it's on the background of the 2015 catalog cover.
The number engraved on the lock body looks like a security rating.

The company that made it is CISA: Costruzione Italiana Serrature Affini, that means Italian maker of locks and alike. It was founded in Florence in 1926. This is the company website http://www.cisa.com/en/header/about_CISA.html

If you have specific questions feel free to ask.

Cheers :)

What you told me is some great info, much appreciated.

Ya, that number is a security rating, but when I looked it up, it had that rating at the bottom of a list, so I wasn't sure if that was indicating low security or high. It's full of spools, that's about all I know. I picked it several times since I got it a couple days ago, but I'm not a pro....yet.

I don't know the model or keyway, but that lock seriously needs a cleaning if you intend to use it for anything.

Changed your links to pictures to displaying the images for you. ;)
