And I'm too lazy to tell you to search so where do we stand? ;)

Umm, if you weren't so lazy you'd have found the posts with the following information;

- You can only pick the basic dimple locks with them and not the pin in pin models.
- The basic models are relatively easy to pick with a small diamond pick anyway so the Matador style picks have limited appeal.
- LittlePeaceful made some homemade Matador picks. You can find the pics here;

Seriously though, it really does make it hard to insist that new members search when the established members don't and even harder when they actually act proud about it. I found all the above information, wrote this post and silently cursed you in less than 10 minutes so it's really not hard........

My my my, you've been a very bad example Skold, I guess you deserve a spanking *gets out spanking rod, ropes, candles and clamps
Of course I don't spank people who trade Bilocks with me... :wink:

As for the matadors, here's a picture of my set: http://tinypic.com/e3u2r
I've used the homemade matador in the middle in several instances successfully. The two most recent examples are a french and a dutch copy of the Keso 3000, made by JPM and Lips, both opened in less than a minute.
It was made from a set of feeler gauge, the blade is 0.1 or 0.15 mm if I recall correctly, cut to shape with a pair of tin scissors and bend using small pliers and my fingers. I glued it on a 2mm piece and wrapped it with adhesive aluminium foil (the foil used for impressioning). The distance from one bend to the next should roughly equal the distance between pin chambers in your target lock.

An important thing to keep in mind when using Matador picks is that they're not normal rakes. You don't insert them and pull them out again fully. Instead what you do is you insert them and while applying slight tension you move it back and forth a short distance while at the same time wiggling and turning it from one side of the keyway to the other. Round handles might help with that. Maybe I can make a short video about that soon.

While I haven't used it on Kabas yet (don't have any around), I don't see any reasons why it shouldn't work. But even on locks of the same brand, on some it works and on some not. I'd say just try it and see for yourself.
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.

thanks for the tip about tipping the pick. I'm going to try to make some from metal that was the return spring in a metal tapemeasure. This metal is also probably hard tempered, but I will try making accurately place dimple indents like the inner pin of Multilock cuts on their keys. This will be done with a carefully sanded nail point, over hard rubber or wood, and struck with a small hammer. The nail point will be sande to get rid of sharp edges, I don't want it to punch through, just dent a small dimple in the flat area between the folds in the matador. I'll probably mount it in a plastic handle from a bic pen, to make rolling it a bit work. :P thanks B.E.!

I tried to get Clejusos on ebay for the second time now but they always go up way to high. And I can't even think about ordering them through the security or scene suppliers due to the price, I'm quite strapped for cash at the moment :cry:
But a friend has the #15 and they are so beautiful and heavy and it would be so nice to put them on a well-deserving lady. Well, at least gives me something to look forward to.
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.
