Came across this today pretty useless as a lock but cool novelty item for the collection thought I'd share.

Not entirely useless as a lock. And there are those here who have a lock or two in their collections. Maybe even a blank or two. :D

Id have to agree on usefulness. Ive never had, but its my understanding that its incredibly difficult to pick those

Not incredibly difficult. Just a bit difficult. Am only an intermediate (at very best) picker. But was able to pick mine open using a custom tension wrench and a half diamond I made from an engine oil bottle. The bitting of the key is not very drastic - it can't be or you risk having the key break off in the lock. If that happens, you are stuck with destructive entry.

It is interesting to see this design keep popping up.

Must be a bear to manufacture, because every time people are selling them there "a small number" or some sort of severely limited supply.

Always interested to know if the bitting is very complicated or unique from manufacturer to manufacturer.

The bitting is very simple (no extreme changes)

Have only seen two keyways.
