I really don't understand the cynical remarks here.
Masterthief joined an open forum, and was honest about his past. He has also paid his debt for what he did. Does he have to continue paying for it the rest of his life? If so, that is not fair.
If he logged in under a different name, and only lurked the board, we would not have even known he existed. So, Where's the harm??

I much prefer cynical remarks to flames..and the concerns/comments mentioned (mostly) are valid ones. I, too, would welcome masterthief to the forum and would suggest to him as to all to first read forum rules and hopefully understand the intent of this site. As long as he and everyone else abides by the forum rules, and promotes locksports in a healthy and legal fashion, then I'm a happy camper.

I wish we could get a retired English teacher to join the forum to help stop people from butchering the English language.
Disrimination you say? Say that word outloud, its sounds like listening to Astro or Scooby Do...... I think what you were trying to type was DisCrimination, which still would not really be the case, since no one told him he couldn't join this community. People said they would be wary of him but that as long as he turned out alright it was all cool.

perhaps the guy thought sod this, reregistered under another name to avoid the remarks and backlash, and for a quiet life.
a fact of our industry is that many of the very best locksmiths are ex villains, many of the best auto locksmiths are ex car thieves turned straight, i know of 2 top safe engineers, 1 american and 1 english who are ex big time villains gone straight, most of the manuals are written by ex villains.
this guy may or may not have been as good as he said he was, maybe now we will never know, if he was then maybe we have lost a valuable source of information, so those that may have benefitted from this guy , now wont.
i admired the guys honesty, that took guts, to flame him didnt, why be upfront and honest, maybe the guy had more self respect than he was given credit for.
i admit i was cautious, but happy to monitor his posts and give him the opportunity.

i have to disagree, i don't think a genuine guy would call himself what he did and be so big headed. i made no comment / flaming early on and was waiting to see what he posted, as it turns out ... not a lot

Mr. tony has been caught trying to hack LP and has been summarily removed.

Is that why tony#### (numbers) was in black at the bottom of the LP101 home page? I thought that meant he was an administrator.
An occupational hazard I'm afraid - those interested in physical security are bound to have at least some interest in computer/electronic security.

I was wondering what had happened to the board. No sooner had I registered and affirmed my account - the board went down. Silly me for thinking it was I who caused a crash.
So, hello everyone. I found the board while on a Medco hunt and this very thread came up. I'm off to read the forum!
