Strange Dollar Store Find

Postby TinBasher77 » 9 Apr 2017 11:12

So I've just recently took up the hobby of lock picking and I have to say I'm loving it. Long story short, I was in my local dollar store and picked up a few pad locks and they're all similar pin/tumbler except for one. I think it might be a wafer style lock but again I'm not entirely sure. I'm unable to tension it using either BoK or ToK as it just keeps spinning. It seems to engage only after the key is inserted about half way. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Pic's a bit blurry, but looks to be a warded lock based on the key. No pins/wafers/discs, just blocking plates that prevent retraction of the locking dogs without the correct key, a skeleton key, or a warded pick.

Sorry about that. I've uploaded a better quality pic.

Thanks for the input.

Have a lock very similar to this. The key ring of warded picks that everyone sells (five stamped metal keys) will open it. Robotnik is correct that it is a warded lock.
