An eBay seller included two of these in with an Everest FSIC order of mine. They appear to be some manner of cam lock...anyone know their intended use? I'm not finding them in Schlage service manuals.

Not for certain...
But, judging by the distance from the tip of the cam to the face of the core, I'd have to guess it's for an electrical control panel. No clue where the panel was, possibly power plant, treatment plant, research center, etc....
Just my best guess.

Extremely interesting cam. Very perplexing.
When the lock is opened, how does the cam move?
It seems as though it would rotate like a normal cam, either up and down (with a circular rotation), but I am having difficulty imagining how something with that shape could make it around a door (which I would think it would need to because of how the end of the cam is extended out as far as the keyway).
I would like to see an electrical control panel that this would fit on. I assume this would not be used for a door or drawer.
Hope someone has a picture (or detailed description) of one of these in use.

Mailbox lock.

Ooh, hadn't thought of mailbox. Thanks for all the replies.
With that in mind, a little metal fab work and there's a very good chance I could bring my mailbox lock onto my home master key system.

As promised here is my mailbox. Is there a way to replace its lock with a lock that can be repinned to work with a CISA key? It may be the Silca CS120 or CS7 profile. Thanks

Those mailbox locks are designed for the post office box type doors. ~~ Evan

Showed the lock carrier to an old locksmith friend and he said that carrier/adapter is made by Bommer or National, and as we already know, for mailboxes.
It's purpose is so the tenant can have the same change key for their apartment and for the mailbox, but by law the mailbox cylinder cannot be master pinned, and is only pinned up for change key, where the apartment door is also master pinned for the maintenance and management folks to be able to open.

no, we were just talking shop on a job site and no catalogs or computers around. I pulled up this post on my phone to ask him what the lock was for and who makes it.
