Kwikset was first, Schlage from what I understand more or less copied the idea once they saw how popular it was. Neither is very secure, I wouldn't put them on anything. Both are poorly made (cheap parts, loose tolerances, etc) and have a number of known bypass/destructive entry techniques that work against them.

Oh, I've no intention of putting them on anything. I got 3 of them in an assortment of locks I bought from a guy in my area that had gotten into Lockport while posted overseas. Once I get a chance to go through everything I'll post some pics in the lock collection forum. Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most!
