Master No. 130

Postby demoesmakendehakker » 24 May 2017 6:17

So first, let me introduce myself. I'm a guy, aged 17, from The Netherlands who just started lockpicking. In the past couple of days I've only attempted locks without security pins, which was quite an easy task. But yesterday I found a Master No. 130 lying around. After a couple of tries I noticed it wasn't opening, and after some research on the internet I found out that it has security pins in it. Now, I have no idea on how to even attempt to pick this lock. Could someone please explain to me how to deal with these security pins. (After some research I found out that pins 3 and 4 are 'spools').

Thanks !

Generally speaking, I use light tension to deal with spool pins. When picking the spools, you will notice the core will move slightly. Thats called counter rotation. try to maintain tension while letting the core turn slightly. When the pin sets, you will hear a click and the core will usually go back into a "false set" ie not perfectly straight up and down but turned slightly. Hope this helps.

There are many threads on this subject. Some even have links to videos.

To add to that, the search button might not get you what you need. I have had better experience with just Googling the question with lockpicking101 in the query. That is usually better for finding the relevant thread.

do a Google search and phrase it like this:

master 130 padlock site:www.lockpicking101.com

the "site:" command will limit the search results to www.lockpicking101.com

Just change "Master 130 padlock" to whatever kind of lock/key you are interested in.
