Practice lock set

Postby WilsonTrucking » 24 May 2017 8:57

Just wanted to show off my self-pinned practice lock set. I've got a set of progressive 2 through 6 pins and then 3 sets of security locks in mushroom, spool and serrated starting with 3 pins (2 standard 1 security) and going to 5 (3 std 2 sec) as well as a 6 pin with 2 of each security pin. All key pins are standard.

I've got enough cores here to make several of these kits... was contemplating making and selling them. I've also got an idea for a holder that you can slide the kik cylinders in so you can practice on the go.

You may want to consider labeling them. This is what I did with mine. Number of pins, high-lows, number of spool pins, etc.

I intend to. The wife and I just moved into a new apartment so my lable maker is stuffed in a box somewhere.

Are you going to put them in any particular type(s) of lock bodies, or just pick the cylinders themselves?

I was going to say "pick them raw", but didn't want to risk coining the term.

I plan on making a holder to put them in so I can hold them in my hand easier.

Hahaha.

Ha! The cat on here that made those self-pinning cylinders a few years ago; here's my chance to be like him and make some side cash!

Actually, I'm going to start collecting high security cylinders here shortly and was thinking of a way to display them in my man cave. I've got a method in my head to do just that. But not to pick them, just to proudly display what I've spent money on. I couldn't pick a booger if I had to.
