Help Identifying Master Lock type or model number

Hello, I am having difficulty finding the model or identifying a Master Lock (having difficulty posting pictures at the moment). It is a sold piece of steel (I believe stainless) and it says "Master" on it. It has some kind of partial cover or guide around the keyhole/cylinder area which appears to limit the travel of the key to about 1/3rd of the total circle of the cylinder. The lock is presently locked to my bicycle cable, which I would like to use, so i am trying to unlock it and remove it from the cable. I am totally new to this so any help appreciated. P.S. if there is a good URL for somewhere to identify Master Locks that would be appreciated too. But I ultimately need help opening it. I can open a basic Master Lock, but his seems more complicated.

Most Masterlocks have a model # on the lock body. Check the bottom first.

I'm not seeing any numbers on the locks. One has TEH embossed on one face, and the other has TEI embossed on it.

It likely feels more complicated because it has some spool pins. I'm sure if you keep working on it you will get it open eventually. Since you have opened basic masters it would be the next logical step up in difficulty anyway. Good luck!

It's not. There are two locks in the picture, one locked over the other. I have tried, but I'm new to this. I don't know what a spool pin is, or how that changes things. Sounds like I need to do some reading up on it.

Odd, I sell that model and the plug is turned almost half way clockwise from locked.

Hmmm based on my own pic from years ago, the bottom is different. In fact the date code and bottom of the lock feels more like an American Lock than a Master lock, perhaps they're letting designs flow back and fourth since its the same company these days.

That lock is definitely picked. There is no way the key pins could line up with the Bible in that position. Think you just need to use a stronger tension wrench to turn the plug against the spring tension.

I was thinking same thing. The core is similar to American 1100, where its under heavy spring tension. You almost dont realize its picked. Gotta turn harder. Either that or its probably damaged. Its turned quite a bit already. I have a master lock that looks the same, where it doesnt list model on it. Just says Master on it. Theres serrated(key pins and driver) and spools. Definitely need to work skill up a little first.

Could be that the core is oriented the wrong way..bible is on the wrong side of the screw... I have done it before

Look at the picture. At the top of the keyway you can see the first key pin. There is no way the Bible can be in line with the key pins. It has to be picked. The Bible just plain can not fit there.

It has been picked, either in reverse or forward and then had the shackle snapped shut, flipping the plug back past the shear line. (Like using a plug spinner).
