Guilty, sorry.

I have to head to Cheyenne for a meeting today. When I get a chance either tonight or this weekend, I'll start another post in General Chatter to answer that question.

Good evening

Sincere apologies for the delay in replying, I had a family medical emergency and just logged on here after weeks.

I am going to read though these, and appreciate all the replied. I do not think I can keep bees as yet, I do not know much about bee keeping, but would like to fortify the gate and home in whatever ways I can afford to do so.

Does anyone on here know about gates - I want to install an electric gate, right now we have just a manual gate, like the types you can get in a home depot etc.

Does anyone on here also know if any animals (legal) are good outdoors for protection, Dogs? Cats?

Are you looking for a gate for your driveway or just as a part of the fence around the sidewalk?

I do know that too many people will just get a dog and expect it to be this amazing pawn that will protect them from anything and everything. Unfortunately, that is not how it works. If you want a dog to do something you have to train it which takes a lot of either; money or time and knowledge. A dog will not inherently know what you want it to do, nor will it protect anything unless trained to do so.
Cats are really great pets if you want something that will knock things off of tables and shelves all day long, and they can be very territorial. I just don't see a "guard-cat" working out for anyone though.

I think cameras, motion sensors, and high security locks will be the lower maintenance higher reliability way to go for security.

It sucks but I think the best way to make sure it secure is to get a Post Office box.

Don't waste your time calling the Police, they can't really help you. This is a Federal crime.

When you buy a mailbox it is your property until you put it out to receive mail in. It then becomes property of the Federal Postal Service.
Messing with a mailbox is a felony.

You need to report this to your Post Master or the Postal Inspectors, the Postal Inspectors have about the same power as the FBI, and don't fool around when it comes to catching the people messing with their mailboxes.

I went through something like this years ago. Being an honor student is the only thing that kept the young punk from going to jail, instead he got forced community service and probation.
