I'm just curious if there are any apps out there that locksmiths find useful.

Codes Online, and a couple other key code apps are out there. Google sure would be helpful, as well as your browser for a link to a great site full of information. Think it is www.lockpicking101.com

I'm more curious if it's a marketable thing....haven't seen many apps for it..other than auto code.

Dialnostics for safe info related to combo's, dial series for loose rings, loose spline and stuck fly.

Any number of VIN converters (which is different than code by VIN, which is also available).

The only app I use is Pad Pal. It's an app with programming instructions for a wide variety of electronic locks and safe locks. I don't do enough of some brands to remember the programming/reset procedures by heart. I use it probably once or twice a month but when it's a life saver when I need it. Each model contains a link to the product manual if need be as well.

Some time ago I wrote my own calculator for pinning SFIC cores, which has been quite handy. It takes the bitting for the TMK and control key as arguments, and reads in all the change bittings from a file, then spits out a listing of all the pins for all the cores. At the end, it also spits out the total number of each size pin used, which is quite handy for estimating pinning jobs.

I think others here have written similar types of scripts. I suspect most of us could probably be convinced to share if anyone else cared... :)

I had a locksmith tell me an IC app that works good.

Link on Google Play "Inline Pinner"

I also found a Master Combination app "Mastercrack" that I use and have helped lots of friends get their combo back. (Best part is, NO WIFI NEEDED!)

Edit: The "Inline Pinner' is the wrong one! Oops. It's this one.

Not a 'useful' app by any means, but "pick a lock" can be fun if you're really bored.

That's a good idea to keep organized. Can you view them on your phone / tablet? For some reason I seem to have trouble opening spreadsheets on my phone.

If I make the spreadsheet specific to a particular key, like a 6 pin Schlage, then it may be small enough to use on my phone. Usually I run it on my laptop since I am going to print everything anyway.

Google Drive is very useful for that. I use it for a lot of my eBooks, and I can access them from any web browser or mobile device.

Have had code apps that are nice. Would like to see an app where you could scan a key, and be able to give depths/Code numbers, and/or enter code number and would show profile of key to scale?
