Is "slack" in core turn a sign of easier picking?

Is "slack" in core turn a sign of easier picking?

If a lock core can be turned slightly with tension wrench before even trying to pick, does this generally indicate a cheaper and easier to pick lock? Mainly thinking of pin tumbler padlocks, but interested in what this means for any lock.

Depends on the lock. Frequently locks with a KIK style cylinder have a loose type fit. Does not mean that the lock will be easy to pick.

Exactly. It could mean a cheap lock. It could also mean there are security pins (e.g. spools) in one or more positions, which should make it harder to pick. :wink:
