Abloy Profile, where to buy

Postby DangerDane » 26 Jul 2017 6:00

Hi,

I have been scouring the web for some time and to little avail in regards to getting my hands on some Abloy Profile cam-locks, locks and keys. I have emailed SecuritySnobs but they don't carry that line anymore :(. I like the metal head for the key and while it's an old system it's still somewhat secure (i think) and due to age should be available for a fair price. But I have been unable to find any for sale.

I am not interested in Ebay etc since I may only get 1-2 cam-locks from there when in fact I may end up needing more than 2 in the long run, as well as a few other locks also in Abloy Profile and all with the same key. And buying locks over several times on eBay etc just screams to me that I will end up with several sets of keys to the various locks that I order which isn't ideal nor what I want.

So what are my options?, just give up and fork up for a Protec or Protec2 setup, or can I find any Abloy Profile keys and locks that are still available and for a fair and affordable price.

How many do you need? Also, why does it have to be Abloy?

3-4 cam locks to start with and keys, with the possibility to get more in the long run. And I just like Abloy and think its a pretty safe concept at least as far as Camlocks etc goes. They aren't easy to pick and only really DE will work against them.

What you really need is Abloy Profile discs.
You can change the discs on Abloy Classic.
The discs are not much easier to find, but if you are handy, you could file some of your own.
I can ask a couple of places if they sell the discs, will PM you if they got them.
Keys are much easier to get.

Well I would say I have one to many thumbs to start taking the locks apart and replacing the discs :P. I am just surprices that the Profile locks and keys are harder to come by. Because I can get Abloy Classic more or less thrown in the neck for a fraction of the cost of the Protec2 system. I just like the look of the Profile keys better then the classic ones :P
