Unknown safe, not sure what dialing pattern to use.

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Count the number of wheels as you turn the dial.

Where the drop is, you should be able to feel where the nose of the lever will so slightly catch in the gate of the drive cam, more than it will catch the opposite way.

That tells you the direction to open, and how many wheels, so you should have everything you need to determine dialing direction.

I would guess 4-wheel, cw- towards hinges.

The combination is three numbers and I tried starting left passing number 2 times then once past second number and stopping on third number and did the same starting right so I did not know if this is the correct sequence for a three number combination. Also the dial is sticking badly around 58 so have to use quite a bit of pressure to turn past that area, any ideas if I am turning the proper number of rotations? Thank you

Your combo is 20-40-60.
Turn ccw four times stop on 20.

CW pass 20 once, pass 20 twice
keep going to 40 and stop

CCW go past 40 once and
Stop on 60

CW to 0
