How to I remove this lock?

Hi there,

This side door probably have not been used for 5-6 years. Turned the door knobs (inside and outside) and door still locked. Remove the door knobs. Tried pushing in... lock would not budge.

Need to open the door so we can ventilate the flooded home.

Using my fingers and screw drivers, able to push the outermost left part into the cylinder. However, lock from door to door frame does not move. Thanks

Instead of pushing that leftmost part into the door frame, can you try to pull it as far away as possible from the frame?

That piece should be directly connected to the latch that's holding the door shut.

I tried that. My neighbor who is 280 lbs also tried using a foot long screw driver. It did not move. He had suggested using a hammer to hit the screw driver going away from the frame. I told him to wait until I get expertise response.

I love opening these stuck latches, very challenging
my suggestion is you call a locksmith, they actually make their living doing this work

This am, I called (11) of them. Of the 6 that responded, the soonest one can get to me is Wed (assuming the water recedes).

Love to open the door before Wed.

I usually take my drill and a hole saw and cut the back of the latch off,
then pull the insides out from the rear (where you cut) once everything has been
pulled out of the latch case, the door will open, unless the tip of the latch is still holding
it shut

That looks like a Weslock brand knob. The tail of the latch does need to be pushed toward the edge of the door. Spray some liquid lube into the latch through any holes available. If it is hopelessly jammed, do what billdeserthills suggested and cut off everything with a holesaw. A reciprocating saw would also work. Then just pry everything out. Sometimes I use visegrips to grab onto a piece and then pry or hammer the vicegrips. Laying a piece of 2 x 4 on the frame will give you a good fulcrum to pry with.

Actually Gordon I have opened a few doors in places where long leaks had taken place,
and many times the door swells so much that the latch becomes stuck. When the knob is forceable turned
the latch tongue separates from it's retractor, causing this type of a lockout. Many times the deadlocking
components of the latch seize up, and keep someone from simply pushing the front part of the latch tongue
back, which would normally open the door--requiring the latch end to be removed, in order to allow it's
retraction through the rear part of the latch housing
