Free high security padlock

I've got a very expensive KABA 8093 padlock with no keys I acquired in a job lot of tools at auction, seems a shame to throw away, my question is how likely is it that it could be picked open so that from there the manufacturer can replace the guts issue new keys ?

I'm assuming that its going to be a challenge to pick ?

There is no key code number on it.

Would someone on here like a picking project ?

We would have to see the keyway (it's probably just a rectangle) to see what sort of Kaba mechanism it is, they make a variety which include these types of dimple key cylinders:
Kaba 20
quattro pluS
experT
pExtra+

They are pickable, but are not easy.

The KABA locks are pretty difficult, not certain that I could do it. There are a handful of KABA/KESO style locks that I haven't opened. Yesterday I did order a Quattro though. If you had a picture of the keyway or what model it might be easier to tell difficulty. Also maybe peer into the keyway to see how many rows of pins it has.

I have a DeWalt rotary pick that could probably make short work of that.

All jokes aside, I hope you get it figured out. I would have to nominate greengrowlocks for this as well. I am sure there is someone here who will take this challenge!

I wouldn't mind giving this thing a shot. I've managed to open every lock I have in my collection, including a pesky American series 2000 puck lock and a mul-t-lock pin in pin dimple.

I've just looked at shipping cost and, if he's in Europe, sending the padlock would be 30 to 36 euro each way... dunno if this deal makes sense any more. 70 euro, and may be more, just to try and get the old core out of a padlock seems a pretty high price to me. And I haven't even seen what core we're talking about. So it may be 70 euro just to see if I can pick that core. And even if I succeed, the new core wouldn't be free. A very specific core for that padlock would cost more or less another 150 euro... I should be less enthusiastic

Thinking about it again, I'd say that your best options are either sell the padlock to some picker that wants it in his collection or find someone locally to pick it for you.
