Physically opening a padlock

Postby P[]LYP » 13 Nov 2003 11:50

I have bought a padlock with is from "wilkos" a UK store a "wlickos" padlock and i was wondering if any1 else had bought 1 of these locks. I have trouble opening it becuse the wards are very well placed and my tension wrench keeps slipping out and the last pin is VERY Stiff and you need to put LOTS of presseure on it. My ques is : if any1 has one of these locks and has some info on them post here. other option i would like to actually open the lock up so i can see whats inside does any1 no how to do this?

help greatly apprecaited Simon

Try this link. I don't know if this lock is the same as yours, but it will get you started. Read the post just after mine (Rover). Varjeal gives a nice little blurb about opening padlocks.

if it is a warded padlock you cant move the wards like you can with pins you have to bypass them try and get something thin enough to pass the wards eg hacksaw blade push it in to the back of the lock and turn it as you would a key and it should release the spring that holds the shackle in place.
hope you understand it a bit more know

:D if you look at the top of the screen you are now on you will see in the picture that says links a set of warded padlock picks you just need to make a set to fit the lock you have. the shaft of thee pick needs to be able to turn without catching on any of the ward the top only needs to be as wide as the original key, you should end up with a T shape hope this helps
