Antique wardrobe lock

Postby Klhother » 20 Nov 2017 14:38

We use an old antique wardrobe to hold my sons games. Naturally we have lost the key.

My tools are a coat hanger and nearly anything else that you can find in a house. I think I'm out of paper clips though.

I have read threads including one on here from 2004 and I can't figure out the actual technique. Anyone willing to explain this slowly? Including when to turn and where to put the pick?

My 6yo son would appreciate it.

I will post a pic as soon as I find out how.

Go to your local hardware store (I recommend Ace Hardware if they are in your area) and ask to see their “furniture lock” keys. Then find one that is closest. You may have to trim it a little, but you shouldn’t have too much of a problem with it.

Go to a locksmith and buy the right key, I sell one that opens 95% of these locks
chances are good this lock is hard to find so I wouldn't be messing around sticking a piece of wire inside it
