I was rekeying several LSDA padlocks and, like an idiot, forgot that if you turn the cylinder upside down the pins can fall out. And fall out they did. So naturally I twisted the cylinder back into place, being a genius and all, and locked it with several bottom pins missing.
I've been trying and trying and trying but just can not seem to get the thing to turn again.
Going bow to tip 1, 2, and 6 are without a bottom pin.
I'm able to shim up to the 2nd chamber so 6 is not an issue.
However, I just can't seem to get past 2.
I've ground down a paper clip in attempt to push in the driver pin and try to slip the shim past, but no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions to saving this $50 lock?

Is the core installed in the lock or is it removed from the padlock body? Pics help, since different models have different solutions.

Oh, right you are. It's a removable core. You can see the holes that the pins fell out of on the left.

I've done this. Used a very fine sewing needle to push the pins from the bottom of the core and slip the shim past.
Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most!

Same thing happened to me last week. I couldn’t open an ABUS padlock core last week that somebody reported as being broken. Figured some idiot who didn’t know what he/she was doing messed with it, dumped out the bottom pins, didn’t know what to do, then turned the plug back. I didn’t figure it out until I couldn’t shim it, and didn’t know why. In retrospect, the amount of play should have been enough to clue me in.
I used a comb pick to push the top pins back into the bible, and then turned the plug.

Well it's good to hear that I'm not the only person that has done this.
And sounds like I was on the right track, but wasn't stubborn enough to keep at it.
I eventually got it after what seemed like 2 hours.
Thanks everyone!
