My new old BAUCHE safe

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

After a few years it's time to revive this old thread of mine. I thought I posted pictures of the finished safe but looks like I didn't. My bad.
I had the safe on the side of my workbench for a few years, and always wanted to make a stand for it. The safe is very heavy for its size, so it needs an adequate support. On wheels. I made a dozen projects and finally chose one that could fit three safes. I don't have many tools, so I had to come up with a project that didn't require special woodworking tools but solid and with strong joints.

I bought and cut some wood

Image

Glued together the two parts of the horizontal supports

Glued the horizontal supports to the legs

Sanded the finished assembly

Screwed the three shelves

Mounted the wheels

And finally put it in place

Here is a closeup of the finished stand. On the bottom shelf there's a nice Juwel safe. The middle shelf is temporary occupied by my toolbox. One day or another I may get another small safe...

And here is the main piece of my collection in all its glory

Cheers :)

You may not have had a lot of wood working tools, but the stand you made still looks professionally made. And it is strong.

That safe is so beautiful.

I am sure femurat is happy to see your praise here and in the keypicking forum. And yes, if I would be envious of something, it would be this safe ... and dozens other beautiful safes.

Thank you guys. Yes, I'm very happy you like my safe and my little display corner. I wish I could transform the whole room like this.

Cheers :)
