Drive/Bolt Cam Needed

Postby djed » 27 Jan 2018 23:25

Does anyone have a drive/bolt cam they are willing to part with? This is the cam that moves the bolt work on an old Mosler safe. The one I have was drilled. Thanks in advance.

Without a picture of it in an assembled state, I am not sure how much is missing off the end. It probably isn't much. I would rebuild the part you have. It is cast so a competent weld shop can build it up with nickel rod/wire and you can shape it to the required need. A spray weld process would be ideal.
You call that a safe? Let me show you a real safe...

Or just hard solder with solver solder a piece of steel to it. That should be pretty durable.

I’d think the repair would have to be VERY strong since if it breaks the handle turns and the safe opens.

silver solder a new piece on, there's loads of space to make a new bit which can have a large contact area and pin through as well on to the cam without getting in the way of operation.
a tidy locksmith, picks, up his rubish
