Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Good day to you all.
Hopefully I can get a bit of info on a safe I have.
The long and short of it is the key is lost. There’s nothing of value inside but want to open and reproduce a key. Now I know abit about locks and have researched the Milner lock mechanism.
Is there any tips or known tools that would assist to open it.
I’m a patient picker and know this is a tricky lock for a freshman but want the glory of saying I did it. Pictures of progress to follow if you can help a brother out.

Hi,
How about some pictures so we can see what your Milners 212 looks like? (Instructions are located in top menu of the forum)

Normally we don't help a brand new member with instructions on how to get into a safe, since we can't tell if they're working on their own safe or trying to get into someone else's safe.

Not sure what kinds of locks you have picked up to date, but that Milners is going to have lots of levers and a curtain and you'll need special tools and lots of experience. Probably aren't too many shortcuts or pro tips we can give you via an Internet forum that would get her open any time soon.

Eee Man on Youtube has a nice video explaining how that lock works, that should be enough homework for today:

and a real one as well:

there isn't a commercially available pick for these as far as i know, it will require making a bespoke tool to do the job and the picking will certainly be hard and require a lot of experience. i've only ever heard of a couple of people managing to pick these open.
a tidy locksmith, picks, up his rubish

Thanks for the feedback gents I’ll upload a picture later.
It’s a genuine task to open without damaging and if the content was valuable an angle grinder would get the task done.
I managed to file down a chub key to fit the key hole. The lock is the same as the one shown in the reply. Big thanks to Squelchtone! It’s a challenge I’ll need to complete one way or the other.
Glad it’s a tough one to beat though.
