Lock Pick Laws

Postby DWeb » 18 Mar 2018 13:22

I’m hoping some folks can provide their local laws as to possession of lock picks, for example California, possession WITH criminal intent, is illegal. I’m wondering what the laws are for possession primarily in NV, AZ, TX, OK, NM. And maybe surrounding states
Reference to the actual state law would be nice
Does a locksmith license negate those local laws?

I find the reference rather handy.

Arizona they have to prove intent to use the picks to commit a crime. Some municipalities may have more restrictive laws, but there are no state laws against possession or legal use of picks.
