Here in Greece and as far as I know also in Italy and other countries in Southern Europe, the double bitted lock had been the "high security " lock for years.
For some years now they are considered obsolete and very easy to pick by people with the correct tool. People change these locks in security doors all over the country, there is a whole business for this. No new security doors are installed with this kind of locks anymore.
On the other hand, as I read about locks and door security and stuff, I come across various sites from UK where the 5-lever lock is highly recommended!
I am new on this subject but as far as I can understand these two kind of locks are very similar. I can not understand why these locks are still so popular in the UK.
Is there a fundamental difference between those two kinds of locks that I can not see? Or it's just a matter of time before the same picking tools make the headlines in UK? Or maybe I am missing something altogether?
